This is a beginners lesson and so I would agree with Justin that standard tuning is the best at this stage.

I can play a guitar, I teach guitar, but as Eric Clapton is reported to have said as he left a Jimmy Hendrix concert early, "I'm going home to practise." Awesome stuff. I think that if you want to learn to play a guitar well, part of the learning process is just to listen to good guitarists play....

My neice told me to listen to this. Glad she did, It is great. Reckon I'll pick up a CD with this guy. It is refreshing to listen to someone now days who sings, rather than talks or shouts. I think I'll pick up me guitar and have a go at playing it too.

Wow, that's gorgeous. It is a difficult song to play, but you nailed it spot on. Quite like the original, but your alternating bass adds to it.

You are not alone. I'm a 50 ish year old guitar teacher. A young student of mine, aged 16, who is into modern noise, heard me play this a couple of weeks back. He's diligently learning it now. Says, it is beautiful, he's right. So harmonic, meaningful and awe-inspiring.

Very nice to see a boy who will play and sing. What a very nice voice. It is what I'd call perfectly imperfect, just a beautifully harmonic natural voice that has not been overtrained, it worked for Bob Dylon too. Keep going kid, you can make a living out of this, difficult though that is.
