Nakia Renee was born in Philadelphia, PA July 9th, 1992. She is the second oldest out of four children. At the age of 7 Nakia and her family relocated to Steubenville, OH where she joined a dance group taught by Terri Woods.Being raised by a single mother Nakia often felt alone and ran to writing to help cope with her problems. Cautious of whether people would like her music or not Nakia kept her writtings to herself. At the age of 10 Nakia joined the church choir at Zion Temple church in Steubenville, OH. After singing "I Believe I Can Fly" solo in front of the church audience, Nakia knew that performing was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life. At the age of 13 Nakia's mother decided to move out of Ohio and instead to Reston,Va. Nakia began to fall in love more and more with music as she realized it was her realease.On May 1st 2011 Nakia felt that she was ready to share her music with the world and released her first single entitiled "Party People". "Party People" has been played on various college radio stations in the DMV area as well as WPGC 95.5.
