Hearing this old tune again puts mind-numbingly repetitive stupid songs on children's tv nowadays into perspective... Sorry I put you through this, mom and dad.

This song is about the emotional agony that comes with being stuck behind senior citizens at the cash register of your local grocery store while they're digging through their wallets for extraordinary amounts of change (in this case, 46$ 2c). Or maybe not.
