Bob Fischer brings a rare combination of skills, talents and background to his career as senior portfolio manager, and advisor for affluent individuals at a national brokerage firm. His noteworthy success in the investment field is based upon his in-depth knowledge of decision-making which he applies in a disciplined rule-based approach: the application of Statistical Prediction Methods.A student of human behavior since childhood, Bob studied the games of world class chess masters to learn how their decision-making process led them to victory. At least in part as a result of his studies, he was awarded the title of life master by the United States Chess Federation. He attended the US Military Academy at West Point and pursued a military career in which he studied classical military decision-making and problem-solving. After serving the nation as a military officer, he began a career as an investment advisor with a regional brokerage firm. It was there that he again observed that peoples decision-making processes—this time regarding investments—were frequently flawed. He saw firsthand how emotions often got the best of clients, and caused them to make suboptimal decisions. This led him to develop new techniques for helping clients improve their decision-making and realize better long-term investment results.
Bob has written numerous articles on investment and financial planning for industry publications including Financial Planning, Registered Representative, Personal Investing, The American Associating of Individual Investors Journal, On Wall Street and Disclosures Magazine (the publication of the Virginia CPA Society). He lives with his family in Midlothian, Virginia.
