About this user

Founded in 2001 by the GREAT Jeni Noerenberg, the Undertones are a 17-member co-ed a cappella group at Northwestern University. Amidst the large number of a cappella groups at Northwestern, we pride ourselves on making kick-ass music while always keeping the fun, silliness, and love alive. We arrange all of our own music, perform three mainstage shows at Northwestern every year, record CDs every few years, and perform a ton of smaller gigs throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond!

The Undertones tour nationally and internationally. Previous tour locations include California, Miami, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Edinburgh, Scotland.

CARA nominated, ICCA award-winning, and regularly featured on various a cappella media like the Mouth Off! show podcast, the Undertones consistently demonstrate excellence in competition. In 2007, we won our ICCA Quarterfinal and Best Choreography. In our 2010 Quarterfinal and Semifinal, we won Best Arrangement, placing among the top a cappella groups in the Midwest.

The Undertones have released three studio albums: "Seriously Now," "enter soUnd," and "Boots and Cats." Our recording of "Get Set," available on "enter soUnd," was selected for inclusion on the album "Voices Only 2009: The Best of Collegiate A Cappella!" Our recording of "Before the Worst," available on "Boots and Cats" was just selected for inclusion on the album "BOCA: Best of College A Cappella 2011!" Of our latest album, a cappella professional Robert Dietz noted that the arrangements are "on par with some of the best I've heard from the collegiate community" and Singstrong Executive Director Jonathan Minkoff commented that "you can just tell that these singers can fill the room and sing to the last person in the last row."

And most importantly of all, the Undertones are a group of friends who love to sing together, love to laugh together, and love the work that we do.

We do weddings, bar mitzvahs, and first dates!
