Some of the best jazz-players in the world are educated at NTNU (The Norwegian University of Science and Technology) in Trondheim, Norway. Their jazz-program has for nearly 30 years given birth to rising stars at the international jazz-scene. 1-2 of the best talents are each year awarded the prestigious title NTNU-AMBASSADOR.
Two years in a row a NTNU-student, Mathias Eick (2005) and Kjetil Moster (2006), has been awarded the prize for Best international jazztalent under 30 years by IAJE. Other famous names and bands on under the NTNU/Trondheim jazz-umbrella includes: Nils Petter Molvaer, Erlend Skomsvoll, Frode Alnaes, Maria Kannegaard, Eirik Hegdal, Ola Kvernberg, Kristin Asbjornsen, Trondheim Jazzorchestra, Dadafon, Supersilent, The Core and Urban Connection.
