tropical fish care: Tropical fish i beleive are a very easy fish to take care of for 1 they come in very different sizes which is very good for starters because some grow only 1 inch so a 10 gallon tank with filtration and some lighting is good and its your choice with plants live or fake

goldfish care: this is a important thing that most people are wrong about never ever buy a "goldfish kit" (notice the ")
because goldfish get to grow more then a foot so a bigger tank like 20+ per fish is good and you also need to have filtration because goldfish are messy fish

ciclid care: i dont have ciclids right now ,but i have reserched a lot on them. their are 2 types of ciclids african and south american so dont get them mixed up. make sure you know what type ciclids you want because once you pick them out no turning back. african ciclids are very smaller fish ,but are very territorial so they need spots to hide also need to have a 8.2 ph which is preaty high. african ciclids are not as territorial ,but still might need hiding spots. most south american ciclids are very big like the oscar which some times may reach 15 to 16 inches which is very big for fish so you might want a larger tank :)

tropical saltwater: i dont know much ,but i have also studied on these fish you want to be able to have a ph of 8.2 which is high you also want to have a pedometer to measure the salt level and have a good filter and power head ( hoping to get a saltwater) and you will also need a spare bucket just for saltwater water changes as doing waterchanges is much harder.

maintaining water quality: with water quaility is very crucial because that shows the heath of the fish you want to do weekly water changes and level out the ph for your type of fish and be able to keep ammonia nitrate chroine and chroimine at all costs.
