The southern style of Hiphop has been so prevalent over the airwaves of radio within the past 5 year that it was only a matter of time until another MC from the sticks step forth to etch his name in stone alongside the rest of the southern rap heavyweights. Rapper Chandra Sullivan a.k.a Dre, he not only takes advantage of the spotlight, but he continues to earn his stripes by delivering a flow so fierce that he leaves audiences screaming for an encore. Originally from Spartenburg, South Carolina, Dre focused in on Hip Hop at age 9 where he was exposed to some of the most notable rappers that the culture had ever heard. Artist like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Master P, Trick Daddy, 2-Pac Shakur, and 50 Cent has continued to influence Dres delivery and lyrical approach. As an onlooker you may think you know Dre as just another street kid who aspired to be a rapper, but after understanding his story you will truly embrace his words as your own.
With every path comes a struggle, and before he could fulfill his destiny, Dre had to endure some unexpected hardship where he was forced to make some life changing decisions that would challenge his integrity. Dre had to make a choice to either stay stagnant, or do what was needed to survive. His street instincts guided him through hard times, and as an attempt to change his destiny he found that hustling was something he had to do to make ends meet. Dre was able to relinquish himself from the hustler lifestyle, and turned to the military as a positive option of survival.
Dre has always dedicated himself to be the best he could possible be, and after being stationed in Iraq he began to make his dream a reality through performances. Dre was the first unsigned rapper in the military to perform on stage and sale over 3000 mixtapes. Through his performances he gained notoriety in the overseas circuit which led him to open up for rappers such as Gucci Man, TI, and Young Joc. If you take a listen to his life story layed over phenomenal beats and melodies, he has definitely set the standard for other up and coming rap acts. His lyrics are well delivered, his performances are well received, and his allegiance to positivity and hope emanates through his stories.
