Thoracic Surgery
The Thoracic Surgery Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital offers comprehensive services, state-of-the-art diagnosis, and surgical treatment of chest diseases using innovative and minimally invasive techniques. Board-certified thoracic surgeons on the medical staff have extensive expertise in managing the full spectrum of benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) diseases of the lung and airway, esophagus, mediastinum and chest wall.
Northwestern's Thoracic Oncology Program, led by thoracic surgeons Malcolm M. DeCamp, MD, Alberto de Hoyos, MD, and Shari L. Meyerson, MD, is affiliated with the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, one of two National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer care centers in Illinois and the only Illinois member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Our physicians also collaborate with pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies in clinical trials to improve patient care and advance science.
