I've only been to Portland International Raceway one time in my life. The year was 2004, It was the Champ Car race there and my grandparents had taken me to see Jimmy Vasser. They'd known him ever since he was still racing go-karts, being friends with his parents. For years Jimmy and my grandparents had been keeping in touch with eachother. When they took me up to his garage area, they greeted with hugs and began talking back n forth. Then, just out of no where, Jimmy turned to one of his crew and told them to put me in the car. My grandma was definately surprised. I was in 4th grade at the time to I sunk way in the cockpit. They even put the super expensive wheel in with me! People outside who were walking around were looking in curiosity. Later, in 2006, my grandparents sent me to "Victory Racing Camp" which was held in the Portland area and was for kids all over the country. The karts we drove are the ones in my profile photo. We were at Pat's Acers, a track out by Canby. It rained all week, and the big race on the last day was wet, and my team finished 4th out of 5 teams. The next year was at a different track closer to Portland, PKA. That year I proved myself as one of the best. In a sprint race, I had the slowest kart, but finished the race 2nd, preventing the camp's 1st ever All Girl Podium. When it came to the big race, my team (team Saleen) did great. I was the most dominant, taking the lead early after starting 5th and extending it. We eventually won. The next year was at Pat's acers again. I ended up gettng my 1st sprint race victory, as with my 2nd consectutive win in the Big Event with the same team. The year after unfortunately, I was unable to attend. What I was happy about though, was that Saleen won it's 3rd strait Big Event win. So there ya have it. My story about my racing experience. I sure wish I could do it for real though :)
