The NCCA MA in 3D Computer Animation course has been designed to facilitate students' entry into careers in the computer animation area, which currently embraces Character Animators, Technical Animators, Technical Directors, Character Riggers, Concept Designers, Effects Artists, Texture Artists, Modellers, Lighters, Compositors, Games Animators, Motion Editors, Researchers, Educationalists and Instructors.

Students come from a broad range of backgrounds including photography, fine art, animation, product design, architecture, fashion design, film-making and graphic design. Traditional art skills are highly beneficial; as are technical skills. It's important to emphasis that a knowledge of computer graphics or having used a computer is not a pre-requisite for entry onto the course.
