This series of videos, which I started on January 19, 2011, is a record of my progress as a self taught violinist. My previous music experience is four years of piano and two years of accordion.
I purchased my violin three years ago but I never learned how to play it beyond a few very simply practice pieces, and I admit that at the time I did not really play them very well. But now I have decided that it's finally time for me to seriously learn how to play violin. So I am starting over again at the very beginning.
My learning strategy is use various standard method and course books, and to post my performances to YouTube. Knowing that others can see me play will be an incentive for me to master the pieces sufficiently to meet the approval of a teacher if I had one. It is a strategy that I used with success to learn the accordion. Now I wish to apply the same strategy to learning the violin. Essentially YouTube is my teacher. Feel free to criticize.
Beautiful.
