@ipmoic Don't get too upset, it's bad for yout health :-) I know from experience that you can look uninterested, smiling or even smirking but at the same time taking the conductor's advice. It's a rehearsal thing, focused and relaxed at the same time...

Normally the chorus stands at the climax of the preceding passage, I think it is rehearsal No. 22, but that depends on the publisher :)

This is absolutely unbearable if you REALLY love music.

Actually, I pretty much like the fact that this aria is sung with a "dark" voice. It evades all the traps and pitfalls of yelling this aria instead of singing it. Beautifully done, magnificent voice, warm color. I like it.

Maestro Hatink rarely speaks during rehearsals. Al the information comes directly form the hand gestures and the facial expressions. A true master of his art. Even without uttering a word, every orchestra immediately sounds like him.

One person posted a "dislike". Actual proof that the internet is an open and democratic medium and don't discriminate against the deaf....
