Whenever I listen to The Magnetic Fields I think of Juno...I don't know why. It's a great movie, to be honest, but The Magnetic Fields just remind of an actually badass version of Kimya Dawson/The Moldy Peaches and her/their terrible excuse for wannabe indie music.

I don't think liking Neutral Milk Hotel makes you a hipster. I mean, I like Neutral Milk Hotel because of their simple melodies and wonderful lyrics...and that's about it...I didn't think they were a pretentious band and I didn't think I was a pretentious person to listen to them.

Such a brilliant album...unmatched in the prog rock, and this is from someone without a huge affinity for the genre. It was so epic and sprawling without feeling pretentious, and it was full of emotion...can't believe this is the band that spewed out "Owner Of A Lonely Heart."
