Right or wrong?! I like both versions! The older by the great Victoria de los Angeles and the younger one by Elina Garanca! That gladly shows me that good singing is still possible! Thank you both Victoria and Elina! :D

Just do it better! I cannot think of a version with more passion, technique and a better accompanist than Gerald Moore and DFD. Just listen to the phrasing and all. That's not achieved until now. Many singers try to copy DFD but they all fail!

What a Tribute to Gerald Moore! Victoria de los Angeles, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau together with Gerald Moore in one (Gerald's last) concert! Gerald really deserved it. Wish I could have been there!

Kein anderer kommt an seine Stimme heran - vielleicht dachten die Coaches gleich dumm wie Rae: "Wir können dir nix beibringen." - Müssen sie ja auch nicht! Nur die Stimme zählt - da ist Charles einfach der beste! :D

I love this clip. Whitney Houston (Natalie's baby sister) will always be loved (by her song I'll always love you and the movie Bodyguard - with Kevin Costner)!

But don't forget Natalie Cole (daughter of the famous Nat King Cole) - her voice is also great!

It's so sad that this art of singing of Victoria de los Angeles seems to be lost. In the 1960's there were at least 2 more outstanding sopranos with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Maria Callas (not my favorite, but still good).

In this aria Victoria is probably best!

Nothing special - just listen to Victoria de los Angeles or Elisabeth Schwarzkopf there you can hear how this aria should be sung! :D

Edda Moser once said: "Voices as Anna Netrebko's there are thousands." I agree on this statement. Anna is simply average as a soprano.

If you listen exactly you will notice that Elina only uses one fourth of her volume for matching with Anna and for making it sound musical "perfect"!...

Sticht Luciano Pavarotti bei weitem aus! Fritz Wunderlich ist für mich der beste Tenor, den ich je gehört habe! :D Danke!

It's real music! That's all what counts here. And Elvis will always be "THE KING" (not only of Rock'n'Roll)! This music for me is a lot richer and more interesting than pop.

Greatest conductor of the 20th Century. No Karajan, Bernstein or C. Kleiber came close to that!

Also Karajan (9th of Beethoven 1947), Bernstein (sevral great recordings) and Carlos Kleiber (4th of Beethoven) did remarkable recordings. As well as Karl Böhm (best at W. A. Mozart)!

When I first hear...

I knew Furtwängler's recording of Schubert's 9th Symphony before in two versions. One with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra after word war II. And the famous war recording in Stockholm!

Each recording is like this one so outstanding. I even can't imagine it conducted by anyone else but Furtwängl...

I'm fascinated by Furtwängler's Beethoven symphonies. Each time you listen to even the same interpretation you discover previously unheard moments, motives, color in this master piece.

Maybe this is it what makes this performance timeless! :D

Eine grossartige Fantasie, die zeigt welchen musikalischen Bogen W. A. Mozart spannen konnte und wie er beinahe schon einen Franz Schubert vorwegnimmt mit seinem Ideenreichtum!
