Hi,

We're students who hope to study music when we graduate high school. We both play violin and my brother (the ugly one) picked up the viola last summer and is now playing both violin and viola.

The name of our channel is "Music as a 2nd Language" or Musicasa2ndlanguage --- which was suggested by our school counselor who thought we should get credit in school for foreign language by studying music theory. The school district didn't agree, so we study spanish, lol, and besides, music isn't really a 2nd language, but the only true international (maybe even intergallactic) language.

We love classical music as you can probably tell, but we also love just about every other kind of music. We've done backup strings for rock bands, for a major east coast rapper...we've done latin music, irish music, country music...you name it...we love it all.

We started on Youtube by doing sound samples for a major violin collection that was owned by a professional violinist in our area who passed away a few years ago. Their family asked us to help them catalog (and better understand) the collection by recording short video sound samples of each instrument. There are hundreds of violins and violas in this collection ranging in age (almost 300 years old to modern); from every country in the world where they make violins, and from many, many makers. We use this channel to post our personal music; our recitals, auditions, performances, rehearsals, etc. and we play our own instruments on this channel.

Well, if you have a brother (or a sister) close to your age, then the answer is pretty obvious...its a total pain. But seriously, we're like any brother and sister, we argue, fight...over just about everything---especially music---but in the end, we're family c:

We go to our local public high school which has a fantastic music department.

Interests

music of all kinds, music theory, musical performance on violin and viola...we love chamber music and play in several quartets and chamber groups; we love orchestra music and play in four symphonic orchestras, and we love doing duets together (violin/violin and violin/viola). My bro is a video game fanatic; I stick to texting my friends/facebooking. we both play a little tennis and like every other teenager, like hanging out with our friends. most of our time is taken up doing homework...and practicing and preparing for lessons, recitals, performances, and auditions.
