If you know about musical saw you certainly noticed that a use a different technique that most of other player. This technique allow me to play both hand close so I don't really use my hand. I definitely developed it as a personal technique related to my BMS, but there is some huge advantage to my technique, maybe someday I will have the chance of seeing somebody playing the saw like me.
Advantage of my technique
By controlling both end of the saw, I can change note very fast.
I bow in front of myself, where I have control, some player play both arm fully extended so they have less control on the bow. Just imagine that you have to thread a needle in the position you are bowing, would it be easy ?
I also can keep my body cantered, some player are so leaned in one side of there body that I have a hard time believing they can be comfortable.
It is easy to play longer saw, I could play 48 inch saw if I would, I just need to vary the height of my seat.
Finaly, I like the fact that I don't use handle at the tip of the saw, I realy only need a saw and a bow to play.
