Located in Boston's Back Bay, First Church strives to be a vibrant, friendly city church, embodying the ideals of Unitarian Universalism and social justice. Gathered in 1630, we are gathering still in friendship, freedom and love.

Our worship services are held on Sundays at 11:00 am and are broadcast live and online on 88.9 FM WERS (Emerson College Radio).

Music at First Church is under the direction of Dr. Paul Cienniwa. The First Church Choir, a professional 13-voice ensemble, sings for Sunday services. Augmenting the core musical offering are three volunteer ensembles - the Singing Society, the Ringing Society (handbells) and the Children's Singing Society.

Renowned for its acoustics, the church hosts numerous concerts throughout the year. Recent performers include Tegan and Sara, the Boston Camerata and the Boston Children's Chorus.
