The main purpose here is to share the audio and visual history of Coati Mundi which in turn would also include that of the groups he has been predominantly associated with; Kid Creole & The Coconuts and Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band.
We are particularly spotlighting material that heretofore has not been made publicly available or widely experienced since their initial release period. Hopefully the viewer would find these audio/visual presentations along with any accompanying descriptions to be enjoyable or at least interesting. Subscribing is encouraged and there is no charge :-)

About Me:
Coati hails from NYC's Spanish Harlem affectionately known as El Barrio. He is a founding member along with Stony Browder Jr.,August Darnell, Cory Daye & Mickey Sevilla of Dr.Buzzard's Original Savannah Band and with August Darnell & Adriana Kaegi of Kid Creole & The Coconuts.
Mundi was the Co-Leader and Music director for Kid Creole and the Coconuts. He also arranged and co-produced a significant amount of the early recordings as well as doing the orchestrations for the live show. He produced or arranged for many of the Kid Creole "off shoots" including Gichy Dan , Cristina and Don Armando.
Coati worked in various capacities with other artists as well including Ruben Blades, Nona Hendryx, Chrissie Hynde, Grace Jones, David Johansen, Tito Puente, Machito, Joe Bataan, Carlos Alomar, Sly&Robbie, Roots, Ralfi Pagan, Madonna & the Olsen Twins.
Mundi's Film & TV credits include One Last Thing, Who's That Girl?, We Own The Night, He Got Game, Girl Six , Species , Miami Vice and Heroes.
Coati has composed music for films and his songs have been licensed for various cinematic projects including We Own The Night , Gloria , Girlfight , Serving Sara and Police Academy 3. He also served as Music Supervisor on the Miramax film "54".
He was composer/sound designer for Sweet Blackberry a company that produces animated films for children with a focus on the lesser known African-American stories.
Recently he has released a 12 Inch called "NO MORE BLUES" on the Rong Music label. It is part of an album titled "DANCING FOR THE CABANA CODE IN THE LAND OF BOO-HOO". For more information click on the Rong Music link below or visit his humble cyber abode (web site).

Mr. Sugarcoated Andy, thank you so much for thirty years of memorable music and this channel. "Sunday Kind of Love" is close to my heart but all your videos are wonderful; great chops on the vibes. Can't listen to the radio anymore because the only real music is old stuff on YouTube. Please tell Cory Daye I have loved her since the mid-seventies. I agree. Coati, you were such ahead of your time! I love Que Pasa/Me No Popi. The transition between the two tracks is awesome. I remember the first ime I heard this track. Frank Sesteto played it at the "Second Story" in Philadelphia.I paid $25 for the 12 inch back in 1985 for it just so I could have it in my collection. Your so much fun!
