About Me:
After their first show at a fair in Bishop, Calif. in 1968, Bob and his wife Becky Munden, a champion shooter in her own right, began traveling full time in 1969 all over the West and Mid-West, entertaining under contract and performing at school assemblies, teaching gun safety along the way.
The shooting duo has entertained audiences across the United States and in other countries ever since, in person and on television. Through changing times and the addition of many more entertainment venues, Bob and Becky have matched in longevity the long career of famed exhibition shooting couple Adolph "Ad" & Elizabeth "Plinky, 'I plinked it'" Topperwein, who toured together as "The Fabulous Topperweins" from 1903 to 1945.
In the mid-1980s, producers of the TV Show American Shooter were impressed when Bob demonstrated with handguns all kinds of exhibition shots usually attempted with a rifle, and showed that he could make them quite entertaining for television audiences.
Over the years Bob has gone much further, making shots never attempted before for the camera -- such as splitting a playing card in flight, hitting a target 200 yards away with a snub-nose .38 caliber revolver, using a 1911 to split two playing cards with a bullet split on an axe blade (No buckshot here!) and unfastening a safety pin with a bullet.
A multi-weapon master, Bob Munden does outrageous exhibition shooting with single-action revolvers, double actions, semi-automatics, rifles, shot guns even sling shots. The man can shoot.
Bob is a purist who uses full-weight guns. The single-action revolvers he uses for Fast Draw, for which he is most well known, are not lightened facsimiles. Munden uses real guns that shoot real bullets as well as wax or blanks. The Fast Draw holster Bob uses today is by Galco International. The design, by Munden, requires Bob to completely draw the gun from the holster. Bob also enjoys the challenge of shooting with iron-sights rather than with scopes.
While doing his Six-Gun Magic custom gun smithing for customers, Bob is always thinking up new shots to do for appearances on Shooting USA's Impossible Shots, which airs Wednesdays on the Outdoor Channel and includes longbow extraordinaire Byron Ferguson, double-action speed shooting champion Jerry Miculek and other fine exhibition shooters. If you don't get The Outdoor Channel, ask your local provider if you can pay a couple of bucks extra to get the program to see absolutely amazing shooting.
