Also, I'm a performer, and i've always done this song,

Comparing Jackie to Jones is an exercise in

futility. They were both brilliant at what they

did. Jackie was a burning star that flashed

through much to quickly with more talent

than I've seen in anybody, but Tom was and

IS great. Enjoy them both for what they are!

It's a great song by a great singer, and it's sure

as hell country! I always thought of Scott as kind

of country doo wop, but this is pure country in my

opinion.

era! Burton is fabulous on this disc!

Was in Navy when this album came out. Had it still till

about 5 yrs ago. Terrific stuff!

Terrific song, better group than given

credit for. Nesmith also wrote Different Drum

for Linda.

The Monkees were a much better group

than given credit for. They had a song called

Tapioca Tundra on their Birds Bees album

which was a terrific song, as was this one.

Either that or I grew up listening to singers who

KNEW HOW to sing, without making every song

sound like vocal gymnastics. I also grew up in a time

when, if you had a REAL point, you could make it

without making personal aspersions.

That's also future oscar winner Tom Hanks in the scene.

Glass is a clear example of the fact that

it really IS harder for a black man to get

work in hollywood. He is a class act and

was brilliant on Barney Miller.

As fine a singer as ever lived, and that's coming

from someone living on the left side of the pond!

this guy was a terrific singer, almost totally overlooked

on this side of the pond. If you like Sinatra, Bennet, et all

you HAVE to love this guy. I have two collections of his stuff

and listen to them all the time.
