ءأُخي لا تشكُ المذلة باكياً فإلى متى ستظل تبكي شاكيا
O my brother, dont complain and cry about the humiliation until when will you keep crying and complaining?

أتطيب نفساً أن تثير مدامعي مثل النوائح ينتحبن سواسيا
Will a soul be pleased that my tears flow like the mourners who weep?

أتظن أن العز يرجعه البكاء فالمجد صار قصائداً وأمانيا
Do you think that crying will bring back honor?
glory has become poems and wishes

قل لي بربك هل تريد نصيحتي إني سألتك فاستمع لسؤاليا
Tell me, by your Lord, do you want my advice?
I asked you so listen to my question

أوليس موتي في حياتي مرةً لمَ لا يكون ختامها استشهاديا
Doesnt my death come only once in my life, so why not make its ending my martyrdom?

لمَّا سَمَت نفس الشهيد مقالِباً أعلى القِلاءُ له المَكانَة عاليا
When the soul of the shaheed rises and approaches and for him theres a lofty status

في جوف طير في الجنان محلقاً ومغرداً فوق القصور وشاذيا
In the bodies of birds circling in Paradise and singing above the palaces and warbling

مع أصفياء الخلق في فردوسها والأنبياء وصحبهم جيرانيا
With those who have a pure character in al-Firdaus and the Prophets and their companions are my neighbors

وأرى إله العالمين كما يرى بدر التمام على المشارف باديا
And I see the Lord of the worlds like an apparent full moon from a lookout

سبعٌ يفوز بها الشهيد كرامتاً إن كنت ذا لؤّ فقلي ما هي
Seven are won by the shaheed to honor him, if you have a heart; then tell me what they are

الذنب يغفر عند أول قطرة وأرى المكانة في المنازل عاليا
The sin is forgiven by the first drop [of blood] and I see my high place and abode

والقبر يؤمن هوله وعذابه يا فرحة ومن القيامة ناجيا
And I am secure from the horror and torment of the grave; how delightful! And saved from the Resurrection

ومتوجا تاج الوقار وشافعاً في ذي القرابة قاسياً ودانيا
And crowned with the crowns of dignity and given intercession for relatives, both near and distant

والحور تركض في اشتياقٍ مقبل يا قبلة هي دائيا و دوائيا
And the hoor await me longing O that kiss, it is my sickness and cure

طرف العيون لوجنتيها جارحٌ سكر الجمال بلحظها متعديا
A look from the eyes cuts her cheeks the drunkenness of the beauty attacks at that instant

لما رأت عيناي لحظة عيونها سكنت لذائذ لحظها أعماقيا
When my eyes saw her eyes for a moment the pleasure of that moment occupied my soul

لما نظرت احترت في قسماتها أي الثمار ينال ثغري جانيا
When I looked, I was confounded at its parts which fruit will my mouth gain

فاقت خيال المادحين لوصفها صب الجمال على الجمال فأرويا
Its description is beyond the imagination of the ones praising it pour beauty upon beauty so I am satisfied
