Mudville's timeless yet unmistakably forward music is a stirring and soulful sonic brew of weighty old-school grooves, sultry avant-blues and soaring, jazzy laments in a futuristic soundscape. Multi-instrumentalist/producer Benny Cha Cha and songwriter/vocalist Marilyn Carino combine keen prose and found sounds with virtuoso musicianship to create gripping, grooving reflections on love and life.

Mudville's retro-futuristic excursions have been hailed by Nylon as "enchanting...a testament to the healing powers of rhythm" and called "poetic" and "other-worldly" by the New York Post. Music from Mudville's two full-length CDs (2005's The Glory of Man is Not in Vogue and 2007's Iris Nova) and EP (2003's Mudville EP) has been featured in the feature film Slutty Summer, the hit Canadian TV series Regenesis and many other independent film and video projects.

Carino has also loaned her strange, fearless to projects with Billy Talbot of Neil Young and Crazy Horse and Sly and Robbie. Producer/bassist Ben Rubin (aka Benny Cha Cha) has remixed tracks for Wu-Tang Clan's Killah Priest, Brazilian Girls, Karsh Kale, Marshall Crenshaw and others.
