This song had such a profound impact on me when it came out. I was a 12 yr old female growing up in the rural south. He was a 20 something male who grew up in some of the most urban cities in the US. Just goes to show the power of music and how it can touch you no matter where you are!

@ztshield I think I would be overcome with emotion if I ever went to the spot where he was shot down. Even though I didn't know him personally but having so much love for his music I think it would be really touching. Especially with a song like this playin in my mind.

@lwj24 Same here. I look back at his interviews and am just always amazed at how articulate and intelligent the brotha was. Vocabulary, methaphors and analogies he used were on another level despite the negative image that some say he conveyed.

I remember the morning after he died, which was my birthday, I played a musical tribute to him and practically kept this song on repeat. Sad as hell on my bday listening to a song he made about being one of the last ones left and now he too was gone.
