My name is Alicia! I'm a fun loving, and God fearing, well educated young woman from Detroit. I'm finally getting used to "Broadcasting myself" :). I work for food service @ a Museum as well as a CNA (looking for employment) and this coming fall I will make my final decision of going to nursing school or cosmotology school either way I'll end up doing both! Natural stats:
*1st perm- 6th grade
Why? Following trends my hair was so long b4 the perm and seemed to never gain much length after I relaxed.
*1st time I stopped perming- freshman yr of college.
Unknowingly Transitioned: From Dec. 06 - July 08. Eventually getting all the permed ends trimmed off over time.
*Failed Attempt #1- Last relaxer/perm July 08
I let "fake" close ones around me talk me into relaxing again.
*Unknowingly transitioned- July 08 - November 08
Why? I didn't see the point. I've always loved the way my hair naturally was.
*Knowingly Transitioned- December 08 - Feb. 25th, 2009
How? I became more versed on afro textured hair around this point, which helped me make better choices for my hair.
*Big Chop!!!! February 25th 2009*
What? When you cut off all your over processed hair (whether permed, over colored or heat damaged).
Why? I was tired of the stringy ends and I ready to see what Alicia really looked like.
-Sure I was unsure the first day and a half, but honestly it was the best decision I've ever made!
*1st time some one asked me did I have a texturizer (lol) - June 16th, 2009 @ work!
*1 thing I have learned. BELIEVE in YOURSELF and what in your HEART 1st and only listen to suggestions of others. You only know what best for you and yours!*
