If you are going to do such a well known cover, this is the ONLY way you can get away with it, make it your own....no doubt this kid did....I say, dig it.

Wonderful artist and think of it....for years she was delegated to writing for those with better voices, like Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Kathy Maetta....nothing against those women, all talented but Nanci is fine on her own.

I drove the streets of my hometown, Memphis today...visited my first home my parents bought, visited the first home I bought, but without your soul group, it all just four walls....but I do hope I left an imprint there, and THAT ONE will remind me again of what home really is....nice song for that.

For everyone who can remember before FM, my bestfriend, who played a great guitar and really had a great voice.....I talked her into learning this....we were a hit on open mike nights, fun, every once in a while its still ok to be silly.

Congrats on the sober time, Lucinda is outstanding, lots of memories, I used to play and sing back up in a little bar in Memphis, open mike, and living rooms all around Memphis.....still good, not so much me but the music, I mean.

It made all of us forget about our bitch, too......and yes these Brits got the "country thing" going on, don't forget wild horses, take a listen to Elvis Costellos version of that.....

LOVE Nanci Griffith, such a great writer, wrote forever for "established" singers like Emmy Lou Harris, Wynonna Judd....record producers didn't think people would like her unique vocals.....leave that up to us. DAMN GOOD.

Love this song, when I was younger this was a daily listeng. Inpired a tatoo for my ankle all the "Pooh" characters holding hands, also the Tao of Pooh....Seems Poo was a wise little bear, and certainly soothing.

This woman had "pipes"......by all accounts saucy and her ability to fit in with her time period, to market her voice. Not everyone can sing true country, rock-a-billy and don't forget she has the voice to sing with a full orchestra. She would be just as hailed if she appeared in todays music.....

I was at this show and a good time was had by ALL, cleaned that little place of EVERYTHING......no they didn't mind the hippies in the fields, we MADE the economy. Stil have the tee shirt I bought.

Needs to be retitled "I miss being MRS tonight"....this was written after her husbands death....symantics but a very important point in this case, otherwise great tune.
