Update: I am now 50 and the transition is progressing, albeit slowly. Looking for work as my male self with the hope that I can hiring on with a company that will enable a transition on the job.
Coming out to family is complete, not all accept. Coming out to friends is a little more difficult and on going. Hope to be full time sometime in the coming year.

I am 48 and I have finally found the courage to transition. There are several transitioners out there that I use as my inspiration. I have already lost my marriage due to this and I am prepared to lose my friends (though I hope to keep a few). I'll start vlogs soon after I begin hormones in August.
