I have metal tanks are they good if i clean them real good seal them and coat them with a water sealant for protection and rust plus to stop any contamination >>?????

Question i have metal containers 20-30-40 long about 6.5 wide if i repair any leaks and paint possible use tarp/plastic liner after mater sealant..You think i can raise tilapia or catfish from this set up after sinking containers 4-5 deep in soil helping with some insulation to maintain warmth..G...
