I prefer to bleed the lines, it's a little more work but that way you have clean fluid in the whole system. Important since old brake fluid has more moist in it which lowers the boiling point.

No offense but I don't see what this proves. Some rubbing compound and a cloth would have gotten the same result. This bumper had decent chrome so basically any kind of cleaning method does the trick. This video just adds to the myth that coke removes rust which it doesn't.

Why would you apply filler directly to bare metal? I always thought the metal underneath the filler is going to rust causing the filler to crack and ruin the paint.

I've seen a lot of older repairs on cars that had cracked filler/paint so something went wrong.
