I like to take pictures and videos of anything that jumps in front of the lens.from insects to slumlords,sunsets to public officials..whatever seems to be of interest, You never know when you might record something of public interest...When a citizen uploads videos to you tube for the public to see, they are afforded the same constitutional rights as news crews, since MOST news now comes from cell cameras and citizens The supreme court has ruled that citizens have the right to record police and police activities, You also have a right to record audio as well as most threats made by abusive police are verbal. Police have NO right to take any camera or video content from a citizen unless the video is used in committing a crime.A common police tactic is to say the person obstructed an officer, and then charge them with resisting when they are indeed, attacked by police. These tactics are routine violations of the constitution, and are being fought with success in courtrooms across the nation! All citizens must carry a digital recording device, if they wish to participate in true democracy. Many corrupt officials are being caught by citizens every day, and in time we will bring the light of day into the darkest reaches of corruption..When a police officer tells a citizen to turn off the camera Hes asking the public to cover their eyes..And WE wont do it! Keep your rights use your camera!!!
