The Suzuki version isn't a version for dummies - I agree some of it he has messed with too much but you can still phrase it nicely and play it well. As xxclairevictoriaxx said, it's about how you play it; not which edition you learn it from.

I think that the main thing is intonation, and the fact that your wrist is stiff. I would suggest also that you 'inject' some passion into your playing. I hope this helps :) - keep practising!
