I'm posting pop music, much of it obscure, that I heard on the radio growing up in Philadelphia, and later Cleveland. As an adolescent I did not own a radio, and had no money or ability to buy one, so I had to listen to what my parents liked. And what they liked was the number one station in Philadelphia, which played music geared toward young adults. Back then that format was called MOR (middle-of-the-road) or AC (adult contemporary). Consequently I did not hear much of the rock and roll of the 60s and 70s until I was older, and a good deal of that on oldies stations.

Anyway, by 1971 I had inherited a cheap cassette recorder, received a clock radio as a birthday present, and saved my meager allowance to buy the cheapest cassettes I could find to tape songs off the radio. If it had not been for this, many of the obscurities I have posted would have been lost forever, because I know that I'm the only one who remembers them.

Right now, my posts are limited to my own radio memories and the only songs I can post are those at my immediate disposal on my computer. So I apologize for not being able to accomodate everyone's favorite album track. I hope you enjoy this trip back into radioland of the past.
