I didn't go to SubSchool, I was direct input from the surface fleet as RMSN. My trip to NLON was to go through the escape training. We used the Stienke Hood. Qualified (SS) 1967 on USS Simon Bolivar SSBN641.

What would be wrong with chucking up a 3/8" drill bit in the tail stock, like you did the Forstner bit at the beginning? No audio after you drilled the 3/8" hole in the center.
