I have always respected the king, and feel this song is just wonderful - I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Thanland from 1969-1971, and have grown to appreciate the King in all ways ever since then.

I had never heard this version before, but like it almost as much as the original (which I grooved to in Western Canada back in 1959). Do you know if Ernie Fields ever did a version of Cherokee?

Interesting that Kansas City was the song that stopped Personality from being #1 - it was done again by many other groups (i.e. Brenda Lee, and the Beatles). However, Personality was so great that nobody else (as far as I know) could ever do it justice.
