I bought one from Blade HQ and I like the knife but, as far as "blade play" its not enough to even be concerned over. Although the one I received had a damaged tip. I think they gave me a demo knife and someone broke the tip in the store because the box was re-taped closed and the knife was loose...

The pin didn't rattle but I just think the tolerances are bad. Im sending it back for a refund to PVK. Too bad, its a cool knife but I was dssapointed when I held it in my hand and flicked it open and it didnt lock up unless I wiggled the blade.

I have no doubt that Microtechs are STRONG and durable. BUT; I have owed 4 and 3 of them had spring failure after 3 days of normal use of simply ficking the switch in and out. What good is a tough knife if you can't rely on the deployment when you need it?

I own a Makora and so far its the only MICROTECH that hasn't had the springs fail yet. I had to send back a Combat Troodon, Scarab and a Ultratech. All due to the springs failing simply by flicking the switch under normal use.

A very good review. Thank you for giving a users viewpoint on the practicality of these knives. People who are looking for an OTF knife such as myself, need an honest opinion. Because they are so expensive getting the facts are very helpful.

I bought a Scarsb, Combat Troodon and a Ultra tech the springs broke in all 3.

Maybe the springs wont break like they did in the Combat Trooadon, Scarab and the Ultratech that I bought. Are the springs in the relaxed position when the blade is in the IN position? If not, count the days before you have to send it in for repair.

The retraction of the blade on mine sticks pretty bad. Even after I put a couple drops of oil in the tracts that the pins slide in, I still scapes and sticks.

You should show the retraction of the blade. I bought the same knife and mine sucked. Probably the only thing that is reliable on a microtech knife. I had 3 microtechs and they all malfunctioned and broke after 3 days of normal use. (just flicking the button open and close)

Hope the springs didnt break after a week like they did with my Troodon, Scarab and ultratech. If you pay that kind of cash for a knife It should last for more than 3 days without the springs breaking like they did with all 3 microtechs that I had.

The more I see this knife the more I want one. EDC friendly? Maybe. I sit all day, maybe a bit uncomfortable. But It sure is a wicked knife. Maybe chicks will dig the look of theconture it has when its in the pocket? Could be a good selling point.

Great blade style. A good review also. I ordered this knife the other day after I saw your review. It has a classic "hunting knife" blade style. And the menacing deployment sold me for sure.
