Saw them at Gibbston Valley New Zealand last weekend. They stole the afternoon from the Doobie Brothers who were the main act, ending with a spectacular rendition of this song. Just brilliant.

No disrespect to the Doobies either who were also awesome, but Little River Band was simply outstanding.

@ar3406 Agreed about "old" country. The modern "country" tunes are catchy and fun to listen to, but they don't have the depth of the old ones. The old stuff has a magic to it that moves you every time you listen to it, like someone standing there telling you the story, with clever music to match....

I don't know... I think this is a great starting point because it gives you other references that you can look up on here as well. He referred too a good steel guitar book on another one of these videos... I got some really good ideas on where to look to learn pedal steel from watching...

Apparently the cover over the two Vickers guns formed kind of a hump, so they called it the Camel... that's the story I heard anyway.

Great video: heaps of random, crazy (:-)) stuff happening. This was what was great about the late 80's: no artistic limitations. Whatever you could think of was cool, and the more random the better. Where'd that go to? Bring it back...
