Why don't they talk about using pork (natural) insulin? I've had diabetes for 38 years now and have been importing pork insulin from Canada. I absolutely hated using the DNA (not human) insulin. It hits really hard and fast with no duration. DNA should stand for (Do Not Administer). They always preach go natural until it deals with medications. Profit is more important than safety. I'm sure DNA works for some but not most.

Ron Paul is against the Protect IP Act as written. If it passes, then it will be more difficult for diabetics to import the natural pork & beef insulin that they need for survival and quality of life. Eli Lilly stated that rDNA synthetic human insulin wouldn't work for some diabetics and rDNA human insulin is the only insulin available in America. Why isn't natural pork & beef insulin protected by the "Orphan Drug Act"? Pork & Beef insulin should be available in America again for diabetics.

I've read pros and cons on Dr. Faustman's research, but to me she's an angel of hope for diabetics. My immediate concern as a mother is that the natural insulin is no longer available in America, so many diabetics have to import their insulin from Canada and England. I will have no faith in the Health Care Business in America, until they make the natural pork and beef insulin available to all the diabetics who need it to survive and have quality of life.

Read " Insulin: A Voice for Choice". Even Eli Lilly said that rDNA human insulin ( NOT HUMAN) wouldn't work for all diabetics. A lot of American diabetics are importing natural pork & beef insulin from Europe & Canada for survival & quality of life. Choices shouldn't be dictated by a profit. Why do those who profit from rDNA human insulin use suppression of information & censorship to push their self-profit agenda. Pork & Beef insulin should be available in America for those who need it.

I just read that George H.W.Bush & Dan Quayle with ties to Eli Lilly encouraged the fast track of the rDNA synthetic insulin through the FDA & then the Bush administration tried to limit the public's ability to sue drug companies. The profits from rDNA synthetic insulin affords the powerful to purchase new cars for their children, while we parents of diabetic children are left to purchase coffins or worse for our children, because of the defective insulin that we are forced to buy in America.

A lot of diabetics are importing the natural pork & beef insulin from Europe & Canada, because you can only get rDNA human ( not human) insulin in America now. You don't need a prescription to get insulin in Canada, because it is an over the counter drug. Even Eli Lilly said that rDNA human ( Not Human) insulin wouldn't work for all diabetics. Please read " INSULIN:AVOICE FOR CHOICE"

I have used Humalog (not human) and Lantus. They both hit like hammers and had no duration. I import pork insulin from Canada and it works much better for me. I prefer the natural insulin. Look at the ingredients used to make Humalog and Lantus. I think it will surprise you. I've had type 1 diabetes for a long time. I will not go back to the sci-fi insulin again. It was dangerous for me. Most doctors follow the pharmaceutical companies advice and do not listen to their patients.

Every time I leave a comment about pork (natural) insulin it is pulled. What are they scared of, the truth? Let people know there are other alternatives if the synthetic insulin isn't working for them. Obviously the person(s) pulling my comments do not have diabetes or take synthetic insulin. You do not have to live with the massive lows or highs with the synthetics. You are very fortunate. I'm sure this will be pulled also. Thanks.
