Gra prezentuje nam szarą rzeczywistość świata z przyszłości z 2069 roku, który został podzielony na trzy mega korporacje: Cayman Global, Aspari i Eurocorp. Korporacje te niepodzielnie rządzą każda częścią gospodarki USA i toczą ze sobą niezliczone walki. W Syndicate wcielamy się w członka jednej z nich, Milesa Kilo. Nasz bohater otrzymuje do dyspozycji cały arsenał futurystycznych broni, kilogramy gadżetów i nano-usprawnień (widzenie przez ściany, spowolnienie czasu).
-Oprócz kampanii dla pojedynczego gracza mamy też bardzo rozbudowany tryb multiplayer. Oprawa graficzna Syndicate jest na najwyższym poziomie: zimne i mroczne kolory dodają klimatu oraz podkreślają realia w których odbywa się akcja gry.
