Roaches are good for adult dragons. Horn worms are great for them too.

Crushed walnut shell is not a good bedding for bearded dragons. But that's probably what the pet store told u. Walnut shells crushed are pretty sharp especially when the animal swallows some which they do even if you feed them in a separate tank. Dragons tend to like the ground.
