By the way standard of living in the USSR increased a lot during Krushev and 70s. Socialism brought russians a good quality of life. Until the late 80s, everyone had a house, a job, electricity, clean water etc. Now Russia is the capitalist hell, there are also kids on the streets (many). The most of russians got poor after 1991. Just 5% of population became richer. Capitalism failed in Russia, surely communism had won it, but Brezhnev ruined it (Brezhnev stagnation, 20% of soviet GDP in army etc.).
Don't believe today's Russia is better and less evil than the post-1953 Soviet Union. Now huge problems arise in caucasus and central asia...
