About this user

As many kids growing up in neighborhoods caste into the shadows of the upper class high-rises and skylines, hardship and fear were daily challenges for Luis Gracia (aka L. Dot) growing up on the harsh streets of inner city Philadelphia. In a life full of shortcomings and despair, Gracia was in need of an outlet to help ensure his ability to escape the challenges that forced him to mature well beyond his adolescent years. Garcia attributes music to be his saving grace.

From a young age music coursed through Gracias bones and was his only refuge. At six years old, Gracia would listen to various music selections and unite different genres, making his own unique sound. Gracia had an innate ability to mimic musical patterns, which allowed him to evolve into the musician he is today.

God's calling can present itself at different times in our lives. Luis Gracia heard his calling at sixteen when he began singing in church choirs. He learned the more formal fundamentals behind music and realized that music was not only a natural craft he possessed but also a way to heal his heart through the many trials that would soon come. At eighteen, Gracia found himself homeless and learned the hard lessons he needed to further magnify his strength and transition into adulthood.

He has been quoted to say, Before I leave this world I want to be known as one of the greatest singer/song writer of all time. Many share the same dreams as Gracia, but very little embody the same talent and drive to make a way out of no way. His journey through life has offered him the ability to utilize music in healing a troubled past, strength for survival and growth, as well as diligence to persevere.
