@Macgrad87 YES YES YES>...this was the only version of the song I knew for years! I realized Solomon Burke sang it when I watched Dirty Dancing. I do love that version....but, Mick being sad.........makes my heart skip a beat!!!!!!

@clix411 Great observation........you don't hear voices like this anymore........during the 60's and 70's this was the key. And the maturity of the voices mattered. Not anymore.

Keith does this song on a Hank Williams tribute album that is incredible. His voice is broken and full of gravel and bourbon. This is great though! Thanks for sharing it!

This version on the Hank Williams tribute album is the BEST EVER! Keith's broken, bourbon, gravel voice is the best way this song can be done. I like Jerry Lee's version......but Keith's voice is the way I would want to hear it!

OMG......I have the VINYL of this which I wore out....because i played it so much. I will still play this song ALL THE TIME. He is fabulous! This version is from 1968!!!!

If you like this version check out the Janis Joplin version....only hers competes.

Duffy's version is great.............but Lorraine Ellison.....who originally sang the song has a mature voice that gives this song absolute soul searing pain and longing! I love this song.....but it relies a great deal on studio sound effects. Check out the Ellison version.....better than Bette.

@dunnamang.........I have very conflicted feelings about the movie Crazy Heart. Loved Jeff Bridges...he was spot on.......didn't like the story........but ALWAYS loved the music!
