This is it, Sonic. This is the final battle. And if you cant hear the music playing around you...it pretty much sounds like you are going to die.
Wow, seriously, this song completely fits the theme of "final battle". You just know that this is the last fight. It will either be you or Dr. Eggman...
I just love how this song conveys a sense of hopelessness, like here is Dr. Eggman in his new giant, frightening arm machine and you will unquestionably die by it no matter what you do. Of course, that is not really the case lol. I havent played the game enough to get to the final boss myself, but I've seen clips of the battle and it looks pretty cool. It doesnt seem too difficult, but of course people could just be making it look easy :-P
Anyway, I figured making this song in the original soundfont would not produce anything close to the original song, so I chose to use Adolfobaez's Electronica soundfont as I thought it contained a lot of sounds similar to ones in the song. However, with the soundfont being the way it is, you may feel some sounds are mushing together too much, but I couldnt really improve it any further. I had a really tough time choosing instruments, as the original song often requires the same instrument in multiple parts. (Ideally, I would have Mario heads everywhere for one thing...) I couldnt reproduce that without cutting off the sounds, so I chose less similar instruments for a lot of things. As a result, my arrangement is not entirely similar in sound to the original, but what it does sound like is kind of cool I think.
Oh yes, and I KNOW IT IS A LITTLE SLOW! Blame the lovely ol' tempo gaps for that. I couldnt get it any better even when I halved the tempo, and I didnt want to double it again to a completely ridiculous speed, so I stuck with this. But its not too bad :-)

I was not impressed with the Forest Maze lyrics video you sent me. It was creative, I'll give it that, but not very interesting.
