The Allman Bros. band were in a category of their own, not "southern musicians" but flat out brilliant musicians and just as importantly, a remarkable team of players. With soul and technique, and Greg's singing, this band was engineered for magnificence on basically every level.

After all that you read about Wes and after listening to his music for years, it is so great to watch him at work...he's humble, unassuming, very detail-oriented, patient, warm, and his playing is fantastic! And you can tell this band is pinching themselves and at the same time acting cool about ...

Chet pretty much is IT on guitar. He was not a country guitarist, he was a guitarist.
He made an "instruction" DVD I recently watched. What a joke; he shows you how he does it, very slowly and carefully, but it doesn't mean you can do it. Very humbling...

In terms of talent on jazz guitar, there seems to be Wes Montgomery, and then everyone else....it is his "feel" as much as anything that makes his playing so appealing....I don't know whatever went through his head while he played, but it sounds like he is exerting no effort whatsoever! The best.
You have figured out Wes' coolest solo, especially the James Bond theme at the end, although the coolest part is the chordal improv near the end. This stuff is very hard to learn. There is no notation for this solo, because I've looked for it everywhere. You really are good.
