Beethoven's 7th was the opening theme for the Japanese drama NODAME CANTABILE and the trailer music for the film JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI, a documentary about a famed sushi chef. My guess is the 7th is hit among the Japanese.

Beethoven's 7th was also used in NODAME CANTABILE. I believe Nodame is where I first discovered Beethoven's 7th. Already knew about the 5th and 9th.

KTSF broadcast this drama in the San Francisco Bay Area with subtitles, many years ago.

A Japanese quiz show with English subtitles for Questions and Answers had a question of the function of a certain pedal of an old piano. It turns out that special pedal was for a certain sound (bell or drum?). Someone demonstrated the use of that pedal and played this piece the Turkish Rondo or ...

There was a documentary on the real Devil's Brigade. A Canadian member felt the movie portrayed the Americans unfairly as rowdy misfits. . But i guess that's what sells in Hollywood.

She died the same day (not the same year) as Dan Peek: July 24. i might say what an interesting coincidence. But I heard from two different people: no such thing as coincidence.

Sorry t learn of Dan Peek's passing. I think his website says he went to heaven

on July 24, 2011.

I think you can get the DVD for about $ 10. now. I think it used to be about $29. If there is a Japanese video store in your area that store may have the unabriged version. The version released to America has 20 minutes cut out.

@rukahk981 Here is the Neil Davis clip where he said preferred to accompany the the South Vietnamese soldiers. He also states even the Viet Cong said the South Vietnamese soldiers were good.

@MrOgnight I noticed some like the visual novel opening, THIS ILLUSION, better than the anime opening THIS ILLUSION. Perhaps the producers should consider having M.H. do more songs for Fate Stay Night. Who is M.H.? I know it can't be Misora Hibari, she died over 20 years ago.
