Harold Perrineau, born and raised in Brooklyn, studied Music and Theater at the Shenandoah Conservatory and started his career as a singer and dancer at the Alvin Ailey Dance Center in New York. After appearing in several Broadway productions including 'Top Dog Under Dog', a play that received the NAACP Theatre Award for Best Ensamble Cast, he starred in the television series 'Fame' and got a big break in 1990 in the Miramax film 'Smoke' as Rashid Cole.

Now an accomplished actor who graced the stage, small and the silver screen, Harold has earned a well deserved reputation as a performer willing to take versatile roles ranging from drag queens (as Monica Jones in 'Woman On Top') to hardened criminals (as Augustus Hill in HBO's hit series 'OZ'). Harold became a critically acclaimed actor by carefully choosing demanding roles in critically acclaimed Indies, as well as major Hollywood films such as 'Matrix' Revolutions and Reloaded and Baz Luhrmann's 'Romeo+Juliet'.

Since his debut single 'Stay Strong' in 2007, Harold has been working tirelessly on his other passion -- music and is actively collaborating with music producer Tomo J. in der Muhlen on his soon to be released debut album. 'H' will reflect the level of creativity Harold has always pursued in his acting career. His music can be described as organic -- every sound on the record is recorded live from live and even vintage instruments, with no artificial and digitally produced sound. Accomplished urban musicians such as Jadakiss, Kurtis Blow and Vernon Reid will be guest staring on the album so keep your ears opened! Having his creative roots on the stage, what Harold enjoys the most is doing live shows where he performs with a full band: two guitars, bass, drums and keyboards. The packed gig at the cult Los Angeles club 'The Mint' in April 2010 showcased Harold's full performance potential. Recently, Harold took the stunning Universal CityWalk open-air stage and once again made magic.
