@soumyavenugopal - this is not ilayaraja. THis movie had music scored by both Raja and MSV. This song is by MSV. "Vaa Vennila" is by Raja.

@rdhinakar - ok i take back my statement that theres not one usage. There is one @ ( maaman onakku " thaane " ) But thats pretty much it. There is a plenty of S-G than S-R and in a non-vakra arohana / avarohana, its imperative that u use the structure as it is as the most general case.

:) very nice performance .... amongst all the uploads of this song being performed by various artists this is simply the most convincing. Whats really nice to notice is the enthusiasm and joy that the performers imbue. A reverberating song indeed !! Cud do with a little more pace.

South Indian Classical Music has a particular scale called " Thodi " which is exactly the same as in here. The beauty is, playing the notes without any frills or shake will not produce the same feel as playing the notes with the frills. Western classical music cannot reproduce the scale 'thodi'...

Whoever has posted this video has absolutely no musical sense. Dude before calling things are copied atleast do some basic checks ... like scale and tune (raga) of song .... And yeah ur big find of Rahman copying the last part of " Sunta hai .. " from " Inji Iduppazhagi" .... Ilayaraja himself in...

Marathis are north indians ??...

This is surely not Rahman singing. .... hear the original audio and hear this and aneone can find out the synthesized voice that rahman provides .... for sure it is running in background ... since it is running in background he has the flexibility to either sing parts or avoid them ..... modulat...

dude ..... i dont claim Rahman doesnt copy ... but this is nowhere near even inspiration ..... in fact ..... i dont know how u missed the point that theres an exact ditto hindi song similar to the supposedly original song that u hav displayed. And if all songs of same raga are same and all songs ...

hav lost count of how many times i hav lent an ear to this ..... really nice to bring out the orchestrated version of the song ...... and .... thalaivar Roxx !!!!
