I actually remember liking this a whole helluva lot when I heard it on Pearl Jam 20. It was playing in the background in I think one of the scenes showing streets of Seattle.

Very important, if the entire statement were on this clip it would be known that Eddie Vedder was referencing what President Obama said in regards to Kanye West and his behavior.

@queenofkool Okay yeah I would agree. I remember when they first came out and "River of Deceit" was in rotation on 99.1 WHFS in MD. Just a great band all around!!!

On Pearl Jam 20 I saw like three scenes of this video that were cut from it.

The first time I heard this song was in Kohl's and at 2:13 or so I swore he was saying Leonidas....until I heard the song again and then I realized that I was quite wrong.

@KoRnKid2011 Apparently, his firing was not the result of the rest of the band's views on Dave's drumming skill, but rather a matter of there being a culture of the band towards their definition of success and Dave had different views on embracing success than the rest of the band.

@Nayayotsu Lots of people do it is no problem. Both Krusen and Abbruzzese are both phenomenal drummers, but Abbruzzese seems to be a bit louder. I mean when I first listened to "Cready Stomp" I knew that Dave A. was drumming because of how loud I thought it was relative to the rest of the music...

@bassnebula93 According to Jeff Ament PJ had so many instrumentals that Ed could not write lyrics quickly enough, so some songs were left as instrumentals. If you happen to find the Stone Gossard demos there is @ least one of them that never became a song with lyrics.

I like it without the lyrics. I love that part of Mick Smiley's "Magic" all by itselph.

I dont care for the rest of the song as much as this part though.

@realmike15 I have to agree because McGregor was the most consistent with his good acting in those three prequels. Not that everyone else was ..bad it is just that McGregor was so good.

When I listened to this song the first time I thought that it was the last gasp of Ten that was made during Vs. because of the mistake in the Lost Dogs booklet. I guess because of its similarity in style (with the notes at the end of the chorus) to Breath. I found out on PJ.com that it was done...

@Fistwagon That is so true, way back then acting and writing stood for sthemselves. Nowadays there is an erroneous belief that poor acting can be covered over by "cool" visual effects.
