sorry to say this, the rod is never glued in, it's crammed up the orange thing, just use a flathead screwdriver and pry it off, unless you have a bicycle with the spokes of the same thickness

i tried to make this as well, only before i saw this, so it was just a lot of grinding and gleuing, but now they look really cool, i painted them steampunk style
