Darwin award is a phrase (and a actual award) used to describe acts of stupidity which result in an individual's death.

The actual award often cites these individual's as self sacrificing heroes as they remove these idiotic traits from the human gene pool.

This is incorrect, the DLC available on launch won't alter the core gameplay or change the overall story.
